Kathiyawadi Garlic Chutney is pungent garlic chutney. Garlic means lasun and we use a lot of garlic to make this spicy chutney. This chutney goes well with bhajiyas or pakodas, dabeli, vada pav, theplas, rotis, Sprouts BhelPuri Recipe and with just about anything. I have served it with dosa also. My only advice is to use it sparingly.

Lasun Chutney
Food in Gujarat is predominantly vegetarian and sweet. Generally, leafy vegetables and regular vegetables are used aplenty. However, in semi-arid Kathiawar Pulses and Legumes along with vegetables are consumed. Kathiyawadi food uses garlic, onion and green chilli, chhachh(buttermilk).Kathiyawadi food is based on Bajra unlike the rest of Gujarat where wheat-based roti is consumed.

I'm salivating reading the ingredients' list! Lehsun ki chutney with hari mung daal kichdi is my favourite combination. But I've never made it with lemon juice, cumin and coriander added to it. That must subdue the sharpness to some extent. Will try it your way this time.
ArchanaPotdar says
Ok I am not a great fan of garlic but a little with khichidi I will enjoy thanks for a different combo.
Vidya Narayan says
You know being an ardent chilli lover, this picture kills me seriously! what a gorgeous colour on the chutney and I could think of so many things right now that I would pair it with. Such a simple recipe but a versatile chutney. Kathiawadis are known for their love for chillies and the red colour gravy that they serve at the dhabas on the highways. Fabulous share and bookmarking this.
