Sounds awesome and easy to do! The only thing stopping me from making idli was the unavailability of the special mould. Recently a friend told me I could make idlis in cake pan in ordinary steamer and then cut in squares. I’ll try making your healthy version the same way too. ????

She is right Maria you can make it in regular cooker vessels too in the cooker without the whistle. Steam for the recommended time. Cool and then cut your idli is ready.
