Green Papaya Salad is a famous Thai salad using green/raw papaya, tamarind and soya sauce and chilli powder. Green/Raw Papaya Salad is a simple and delicious a perfect example of Thai Cuisine.
Food in Thailand has harmony as the guiding principle behind each dish.
Thai cuisine is essentially a marriage of centuries-old Eastern and Western influences combined into something uniquely Thai. Thai food requires that there must be a harmony of tastes and textures within individual dishes and the entire meal. The whole meal is a rich amalgamation of flavours, aromas with contrasting tastes and textures.
The other Thai dishes that I have tried in the past
- Thai Coconut Pudding/ Custard
- Asian Slaw with Spicy Thai Vinaigrette
- Pad Thai for Thailand
- Veggie Thai Red Curry
Green Papaya Salad is traditionally made by pounding the green chillies, jaggery, tamarind pulp, chilli powder, soya sauce, lemon juice, coriander and salt in the mortar pestle but I have used the handheld manual chopper, you can use the mortar pestle.
I made this salad with the leftover Green Papaya after making this Green Papaya with Nigella Scent.
