The salads served in small helpings I do not know why but since it is delicious and I have been advised a light diet this is something I made and had a full bowl for my 11 am a snack. Believe me, I did not realise it was 1:30 pm and way past my lunch hour when my kid came home from school.
The main ingredients here are moong dal, carrots and a good tempering.
The other dishes with moong dal are Sukhi Moong Dal Recipe|Tasty Stir Fried Moong Dal, Moong Dal, Urid Dal Paddu, Simple Paratha with Leftover Moong Dal, Moong Dal Dhokla, Moong dal Kheer, Palak Moong Dal, Moong Dal ki Khichidi, Moong ki Dal.
Hesar Bale Gajjari Kosambri |Moong Dal and Carrot Salad
- ¼ cup moong dal soaked
- 1 carrot grated
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- ½ teaspoon Oil
- ¼ teaspoon Rai/mustard seeds
- pinch Hing/Asafoetida
- Salt to Taste
- ¼ piece Lemon
- Soak the moong dal for ½ an hour.
- Drain add the grated carrot.
- Heat oil in a small pan splutter the mustard, add hing/asafoetida.
- Add the green chillies.
- Pour the tempering in the moong and carrot mix.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
