yellow moong dal
/skinless split green gram

Palak/spinach
finely chopped

teaspoon
turmeric powder
Asafoetida Powder
a pinch

teaspoon
Ghee

teaspoon
cumin seeds

garlic

Ginger

green chilli

teaspoon
amchur
/mango powder

teaspoon
rock salt

to Taste
Instructions
Rinse the moong dal and transfer in a deep pan.
Add 2 ½ cups water and cook until soft.
Meanwhile mince the ginger, garlic and chillies fine.
Heat ghee(or oil) in a pan.
Add jeera, garlic, ginger, green chillies and sauté for one minute.
Add the haldi powder and hing.
Add to the dal and mix well.
Add spinach, amchur and salt mix well.
Add water to adjust the consistency of the dal.
Serve hot.
Notes
You can also cook the dal in pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
