Ingredients

  • 1 cup quinoa soaked for 1 hour
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 inch sticks dalchini/cinnamon
  • 2 laung/cloves
  • 1 tejpatta/bay leaf
  • 2 tsp Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Onions finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger grated
  • Salt to Taste
  • 2 1/2 cups Water

Instructions

  • In a thick-bottomed vessel, heat ghee add the cinnamon, cloves, tejpatta/bay leaf until you get a distinctive aroma.
  • Add the green chillies, garlic and ginger.
  • Stir well then add onions stir-fry until translucent.
  • Add quinoa along with the water and mix well.
  • Add water, salt.
  • Stir to mix and cook.
  • Add green peas and mix well.
  • Cover and cook on medium heat until fully done.
  • Keep stirring once a while.
  • Serve hot with raita.
