  1. Soak the moong dal for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Drain add the grated carrot.
  3. Heat oil in a small pan splutter the mustard, add hing/asafoetida.
  4. Add the green chillies.
  5. Pour the tempering in the moong and carrot mix.
  6. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
